FISU World Forum
The FISU Forum is a biennial event held in various cities around the world. The Forum provides an opportunity for students and university sport senior staff/leaders to come together to discuss education, culture and university sport. The Forum features workshops, conference style dialogues, and presentations by delegates. Both cultural and sporting excursions are included throughout the Forum as well.

Canadian Delegation
U SPORTS will send a maximum of five (5) delegates as follows:
- Three (3) student representatives
- Two (2) university sport representatives
Selection Criteria
In order to be considered as a student representative, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Be at least 18 and less than 25 years of age on December 31st in the year of the event; must be born between January 1, 2001 and December 31, 2008
- Students who are currently officially registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at a university or similar institute whose status is recognised by the appropriate national academic authority of Canada
- Former students who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year preceding the event (ie. 2025)
In order to be considered as a university sport representative, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a leadership position in post-secondary athletics, physical education, other post-secondary department (preference will be given to U SPORTS members)
- Have a detailed understanding of the university sport system in Canada
- Have the endorsement of their university (academic faculty or athletics department)
Funding
This event is self-funded; U SPORTS does not fund any FISU World Forum participants or any aspects of their participation.
The following is an estimated budget for the trip. Each participant is responsible for all costs related to their participation at the 2026 FISU World Forum.

If selected, a non-refundable deposit for the Participation Fee will be required by May 1, 2026. Participants will also need to participate to a debrief session with U SPORTS and submit a post-event report.
How to Apply
Applicants must fill the application form. Applicants will be asked to attach their resume/CV and a letter of recommendation from their school (academic department or athletic department) in the application form.
All candidates will be contacted and notified of the outcome of their application by April 10, 2026.
